Week Ahead!

Yet another week is starting and this one also includes a trip. This time the plane is taking us to Brussels, how exciting! I have never been to the capital of Europe, nor Belgium for that matter, so it'll be fun. I'm expecting sunshine and a picnic in the park.

Apart from more travel adventures, I'm looking forward to work, yoga, tai chi, running and a dinner with some friends. And plenty of good food. My mind has been on food lately. After eating out almost everyday last week, it is now time to focus on homemade meals. Actually I prefer homemade food to fancy restaurants. It's fun to explore in the kitchen. This week's menu includes meatballs, salmon, zucchini and spinach salad. Can't wait!

Veggies And General Ponderings On A Saturday

First I must tell you all about an extremely delicious dish I threw together yesterday. All you need is a little bit of sweet potato, 1/2 carrot, 1 small onion, 2 garlic cloves, 1/2 pepper, chickpeas and spinach. Season with pepper, coriander and curry.’ (serves 2)

I was supposed to go to a yoga class today. It was a class I had really looking forward to because we were going to practice basic techniques. The buzzing and humming in my ears and the black spots in my eyes started 10 minutes after that class had started. In order to avoid fainting right there and then, I decided to pack my stuff and leave. What a pity! So, I’m spending this Saturday freezing and with a sore head in bed, reading this:

A Battlefield In My Mind

Swoosh. Bang. Crash.

It’s not a war.

It’s my mind during yoga.

My mind in an unusually tranquil state.

Usually the state of affairs is far worse.

It could almost be compared to a Great Modern War.

The ideas keep popping up.

They fight, they argue.

They punch each other and make a lot of noise.

They shoot at each other, aiming for victory.

The loudest one wins.

During yoga,

my mind is more like one of those battlefields that could be found

in the medieval ages.

I guess this could be called Progress.

Asana

As you know, I´m hooked on yoga - I try to exercise it at least once a week in order to keep myself somewhat sane and relaxed. Now, there are lots of great poses out there, but I think my favourite is the plow pose - it requires focus and it feels great.
Which is your favourite yoga pose?
