The Book Challenge Day 1

Day 01 – Best book you read last year

The best book I read last year must have been 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. I'm not 100% sure since I can't remember all the books I read, but let's say it was 1Q84. Why? There's always something special about a book if one cannot put it down even though it's incredily THICK and in SPANISH. I couldn't. Therefore, the book must have been extraordinary.
The book, or actually volumes 1 and 2, were publish early in Spanish and that's how and why it ended up in my hands and later on in my book shelves. Haruki Murakami is one of my favourite writers, and after having read most of his works (in translation), this one was not a disappointment. It's been a while since I read this, so it's impossible to give any precise opinions. What can be said, however, is that it invites the reader to the surreal world that is so typically Murakami, and that the themes in the book are very important and very current.

 Have you read this book?
